That uncertain feeling were a band from Manchester England formed in the early 90's with Mark Lee who later formed Rain Band. These young lads were still in school when they signed with dead good records. Sounding a bit like revolver and new order with the song "sunriser" heavy laid guitars and distortions plus that amplified early 80's acoustic bass sound easily catches the mancunian groove trained ear and along with their other single "on the edge" a bit of early charlatans  sprinkled guitar reverb/flange effects and catchy bass hooks surely it's unmistakable who and where their influences comes from.

POPPY FACTORY- stars 12"

Electronic house music from the band Poppy Factory. This Bradford England trio released a couple of singles and they are all fantastic A blend of electronic house acidfunk whatchamacallit ..released by chrysalis in 1991, groovy tunes to bob your head to while listening in traffic. Ofcourse this goes out to our new wyatt erp who is now seeing stars at the moment (figuratively speaking).....welcome to the world Charlee ahhhhhh!

THOMAS LEER- No 1 (extended version)

A native of Scotland, he was once a part of Claudia Brucken's band Act. This bloke has been making records since 1979 and has released a few albums and singles one of which is called "international" which I also recommend because of the down tempo 80's type rhythm. This 1985 arista 12" single in particular captures the 80's new romantic element in sound like the sax and orchestral arrangement...and knowing myself I'm always a sucker when it comes to sax and orchestra  in new wave music. Well this cut goes to my friend spacekid who was number 1 at my friend DJ-Po's mahjong/ufc fight night bbq hehehe...good luck mate and hoping for a successful delivery.

SCARED OF THE DARK-give me that feeling

Don't have much info about the bands history except I assume they are English and have a bit of ska mixed in to their music. From cottage industry records released in 1986, this track has a fantastic upbeat tune really really catchy...so there you go, anyway I wish you filthy animals a merry Christmas...this will be the last entry for this year 2014, and see yah in 2015.

LAWRENCE AND THE COMFORTABLE SOCIETY- heartache 7"

This post goes out to my buddy and bestman who has been silent in the blogsphere world for a while now...hmmmm hey djkalabit where u at hehehehe  ok so far I had a post titled MAX and now LAWRENCE... well guess who is next and yah knows who you are foo ...anyway released in 1986 under LC label which if im not mistaken is their own private pressing, and hailing from Norfolk UK(?) this 5 piece ensemble never repeated their once masterpiece composition which I may say also fetches a masterpiece like price at discogs that is if you don't wanna give up on getting your new iPhone 6 or a laptop, you will have to fork out an extra 500 smackerooos on top of your budget... whew. the A side cut "sleeper" is also good but I prefer the B side, much more fluid and hearfelt. Hope you enjoy it!

MAX- little ghost

well this post is for djspacekid who is currently enjoying a long vacay with sun sand and Johnnie ( save some for me and bongski beat hehehe) and ofcourse with his lovely sexy girlfriend...I think? not sure coz he's never mentioned her to us folks back here...but anyway about this record, this was played in the airwaves in manila back in 87-88 and when I first heard it I thought it was a funny little song...appropriate for halloween parties I guess. So here it is ...the little ghost or as my friend cino would call his friend down south hehehehe peace brotha!!!

THE SEASIDE- IDOLISE 12"

Sounds like flower power to me, these somewhat son's of the 60's if first heard were actually from the 90's and released this single from Vlaw records back in 1991. Indie pop gem I can assure you however never really made it through the mainstream baggy madchester acid house shoegaze blah blah blah scene, but nevertheless nice guitar hooks. there are 3 tracks to this but only the main track is what I included here. if I can also mention they may have released a track on a single along side MARCH TO THE GRAVE but this is just speculation unless someone can add some info on this.

THIS FINAL FRAME-my blue heart

Released in 2009 under crashing records, this full length CD comprises of 10 heavenly haunting songs that are well arranged just like what they should sound like way back in 1985. Particularly popular in east asia most especially the Philippines, fans requested that they reform and record brand new songs and hence this CD. I chose the title song of the album because it really resonates what the new wave sound  is like as I remember them, although most of the songs here do,  this one though, really gravitated to me as if they knew what Filipino new wavers taste in sounds really cuts right to the core, ala Care dreamy in a way with lots of guitars and harp synth stuff.

PERSONAL COLUMN-strictly confidential (dub)

Band from Liverpool formed in 1980, they released a few singles and was pretty well liked in the new wave circuit of Liverpool that time. A favorite of John Peel the band performed a few sessions for him.  This 12" single was released in 1984, and I personally like the cut because of the dance beats.

HIDDEN CHARMS-run for your money (club a dub mix)

Back in the annals of 1983, a nice little synth pop group from the UK. The song reminds me of JIMMY JIMMY kinda, catchy and quirky to say the least. Instrumentals at the middle of the song is funky(ish) and I like it. Hope you listeners enjoy it...this is definitely not a run for your money if you happen to buy this single. To my amigos kumpadres homies "wer da heck are you guys at" !!!!!!

THE DEAD ADAIR- different 7"

Another of "the spirit of radio's" unidentified song from way back 2002 which was only pegged last year. This is quite unique because of the way the lead vocalist sounds...I thought at first they were definitely English but I was wrong. This band hails from Germany...yes that's right the land of the synth and goth bands but this one however is different from what was mainstream as far as genre is concerned. Called "the most famous unknown band of their country" according to their facebook page, they sound distinctively indie just like the other c86 bands out there. The vocal reminds me of a certain front man named Maxine who fell of his bike and broke his finger uhhmmm you there? Anyway formed in 1988 this EP single is from 1990 and the artwork says it all no explanation needed.

JOHAN LINDELL- on the roof aka (stay a second time around)

I have been following this mystery song for more than two years now, I remember my wife pregnant at that time and she was helpless in bed so I had to take care of her the whole time until she gave birth...but anyway I remember one day being so bored out of my elbows I decided to surf the net and look for some new songs to listen to, most particularly new wave 80's songs, when I stumbled upon this website called the spirit of radio. This Canadian website I think was dedicated to CFNY radio's edge 102 and in this site has a forum wherein you can submit a song online that you wanted to help identify, this is where I found out about the band ESKIMOS AND EGYPT and this is where I came across this song posted sometime in either 2002 or 2003 by a certain Paul Miceli among other songs he wanted help identify. Well this particular one was originally posted in the site called DeDiniDevil by a certain Dan Coogan back in 2002, in which the song was recorded in a cassette tape back in 1986 or 85 im not sure... from a german radio station...but anyway he had only recorded the last minute of the song and sure enough could never find out who sang it until he posted it on the internet in 2002 to get more exposure ...so you can say for sure that he has never known the existence of the artist until last week for almost 27 years ...amazing enough. For almost 11 years on the net it garnered heavy traffic amongst people curious of solving the mystery...even I was bitten by it. From time to time I would visit the site and to my understanding it has gotten so much attention that the clip was posted in you tube, new wave outpost, Reddit and one other site in a desperate move to solve it once and for all. Well anyway Reddit.com helped solved this mystery by submitting the clip of the song to a Swedish radio station and there by played it on air to their listeners and sure enough it was identified right away. Much hype was circling after the mystery song was solved and it has only been a week and so days. you tube has now more than 96K counted as soon as this song was posted and also a radio station in Minneapolis picked up the sordid story about it and was a topic on one of the segments they have...here is the link if you are interested http://archive.org/details/cftp-2013-09-20 so anyway I decided to share this cut to whoever visits my blog and I am sad to say that its all over now...no more mystery  hahaha to be honest I was hoping it would never get solved...but then poor Dan would die unhappy. In my upcoming post I also have another song that was identified only last year. This was also a mystery in the spirit of radio site since 2002 and some suggested that it is more rare than  "on the roof" .

THE FARMER'S BOYS-for you (big version)

Gone for over a year and a lot has transpired...I mean life changing things you never know could happen and in the weirdest ways possible but hey.."its all good" as they put it, I'm still here stuck with my ever galvanizing life and I cant complain. Anyway a lot can be discovered especially when you are rummaging to your old stuff...stuff that you don't even care to bother anymore and I'm talking bout my record collection ...funny thing is I haven't looked at them in ages and I am suppose to know what I own but surprisingly I totally forget what records I have...signs of aging, case in point, this twelver here, I mean this band is one of my faves and to think I don't even know what I have with this group hahaha suffice to say now I know I have at least four copies of singles from them including this one. Well anyways I just wanna throw this one out here decicated to YOU.

ESKIMOS & EGYPT-screams and whispers from THE COLD E.P. 7"

Lakesho again, but now its crunch time, and all you fanatics out there better scream as loud as you can whenever Bynum starts to dunk and block, metta hows that elbow of yours? good luck to the city of angels tonight! anyway lets shift our focus on the topic at hand which is eskimos and egypt. according to wiki they come from manchester england and released their first single EP in 1987 called the cold under the label aptly named manchester indie village records. There are 3 songs in this EP and the one i posted screams and whispers is the best one out of all three. the single is rare and expensive so be prepared to pay an extensive amount if you ever find one...discogs i believe has only one copy  for sale and it is about $96. hope you enjoy listening to it.....GO LAKERS!

ZERO LE CRECHE- last years wife 12"

cheers blogowers i'm kinda back in the scene again after a long but sweet absence...just had me a baby boy and this kid's a handful albiet fun to have...anyway i posted this here twelver because me good friend cino and i were talking bout records and i haven't seen this bloke for bout 4 months until our friend had a baby shower.....so here we are getting in touch of whats out there and what not, and i mentioned to him bout this band but could not remember their name, all i know is they have a weird name for a band..hehehe but anyway a little info about them..they came from london and formed in 1984, they are goth and they also released a few singles however this one is considered a goth classic and the 12" is hard to find...its expensive to if you happen to see one on ebay...so there you go. they sound a little like the psychedelic furs, and this here song is catchy....more new wave than goth i think...hope you like it.

GIGOLO AUNTS-bloom/serious drugs/ask

Here we have a yankee power pop band from where else new york. Formed in the early 80's and very much influential with up and comers from that era, i wish i could go in detail about them but i am too lazy to type, so pardon me...well you can still read about them at the wiki and it further discusses their whole coolness in detail. anyway this is one of the few american bands i admire like ocean blue and sonic youth among others. i like their sound because it is comparable to the teenage fanclub although minus the cockney. i also included their rendition of the ever famous tracks of the smiths and bmx bandits...hope it wakes you up!!

KID SINISTER- the cradle born

This band from bristol formed in the mid '80's surrounded by singer/songwriter john douglass. the band played around the UK and could have been a pop sensation, however they signed up with the independent label sons of arts records, to release their first ever single sugar rae. unfortunately this was never followed by another and so the band sought to call it quits in 1990. sugar rae has become a cult classic and favored heavily by japanese and german collectors, evidenced by sums reaching over 50 pounds on ebay at times. to describe their music simply, just picture tony hadley of the outfit spandau ballet, in my opinoin they sound so similar and if you've heard this band for the first time you would think it is spandau. anyway nice cut somewhat jazzy(ish) fits the relaxed mood of the 80's i think. so to all my friends who wants to "rock the cradle" so to speak....be careful!!! you might just get arrested..hehehe you know who you are.

THE SERVANTS-the sun a small star 12" EP

An indie band formed in 1985, these middlesex quartet recorded this EP under head records with frontman david westlake. a big fan by stuart, vocalist of belle and sebastian, the servants was well received by the press that NME decided to include them in their C86 compilation. Later in 1987 the group has seen a change in their line-up with the addition of luke haines and hugh whitaker (drummer for the housemartins) and signed with creation records to release a couple of good tracks. this cut reminds me more of the 60's sound due to the acoustic reverb guitar solos and to hear the violin in the background truly makes it one of the finest pieces i've ever heard.

START-where i want to be

Start is a little known band from Lawrence, Kansas. Formed back in 1983 it is comprised of Jay Francis, Ric Lind and Shawn Kelly. Signed under clearsongs, this album has a lot of good stuff in it especially one track written and performed by allen ginsberg the famous poet and recipient of the pulitzer prize. where i want to be is a sound unbeknownst to many during the time, when this kind of indie sound later came about. little info out there about them, so this is all i can disclose. however do enjoy the track, hope it STARTs out to be a pleasant one.
